By artist Taomei：When I first framing this shot, I didn’t just see a vase; I was trying to capture a very specific kind of still, grounded presence. We call this form the ‘Grounded Egg’ in the studio, and it’s meant to look incredibly strong, yet surprisingly fluid.

I wish you could pick it up. It has that substantial, tactile weight that you only get from truly stone-fired ceramics. We fire this glaze up to an intense 1310°C, and at that heat, the minerals in the clay do their own thing. That deep, emerald green isn’t clinical or perfectly uniform—it’s full of character. There are tiny, dark iron speckles peeking through, and they’re perfectly imperfect. That’s the Wabi-Sabi—it embraces the beauty of the raw and the real. It’s a generous vase, meant to be a standalone sculpture. But if you’re asking for styling? I’d drop in a single, large palm leaf or a dramatic, bare dried olive branch.Its olive-shaped silhouette is a study in balance: narrow at the neck, full in the belly, tapering gently to the base. It’s tall enough to command a corner, but soft enough to feel gentle, like a stone smoothed by water over time.
