Hand-Painted Deer & Hydrangea Scalloped Ceramic Plate

By artist Manxu：I wanted to capture the quiet magic of winter: the softness of hydrangeas still holding their color, the warmth of a scarf wrapped tight, the gentle curiosity of a deer pausing in the garden.
The scalloped edge is pressed by hand, each ridge like a petal unfurling, catching light to make the plate feel alive. At its heart, a deer with delicate antlers leans into clusters of pink hydrangeas, his red scarf a bright spot of warmth against the white ceramic. I painted each hydrangea petal one by one, layering soft pinks and greens to make them feel like they’re breathing, like they might fall gently onto your table. Tiny red and green dots dot the edge, like snowflakes or berries, a quiet nod to the season.
