Hand-Painted Hydrangea Ceramic Vase

By artist Taomei：In Jingdezhen tradition, the hydrangea represents unity, gratitude, and heartfelt emotion—its clustered blooms a metaphor for family, community, and the warmth of togetherness.We painted each hydrangea cluster by hand, layering soft white petals to mimic the full, rounded shape of the bloom—echoing the ideal of “man yuan” (fullness and completeness). The earthy, speckled ceramic base grounds the delicate flowers, just as tradition grounds modern life: rough, rooted, and unapologetically alive. The classic Chinese vase shape—wide belly, narrow neck—frames the blooms like a scroll painting, turning a simple arrangement into a piece of cultural art.
